Brownie In A Cup With Ginger Twist

I am sure you have had your share of midnight hunger pangs. Looking for the most sinfully edible in the fridge, or have just the bit of energy to cook up anything that doesn't take more than 5minutes. Well I know! I am secretly looking out for such recipes too :) The more sinful the better. A lasagna leftover, the last slice of cheesecake thats gonna disappear or may be your own cup of hot brownie. Well yes, and it won't even take you the whole 5 mins. Lets get down to business then, here's how:

What you will need:

~ A Mug
~ 4 tbsps of Semi-Sweet Chocolate 
~ 2 tbsps of Unsalted Butter
~ 3 tbsps of All Purpose Flour
~ 2 tbsps of Brown Sugar
~ 1 Egg Yolk
~ 1 tsp Ginger Paste
~ Measuring spoons
~ A normal spoon for mixing


1. Melt the Butter and half the chocolate in the mug by putting it in the microwave for 15secs. Then stir it vigorously. If needed put it in for another 15 secs and stir again till it becomes smooth.

2. Now add an egg yolk and stir again. 

3. Add a tsp of ginger paste. Fresh ginger paste is always better, but if you have bottled thats fine too.

Note: I have used ginger as a replacement for Vanilla essence. It adds a nice warm twist to the dessert and goes very well with chocolate!

4. Now add the brown sugar. If you want to use granulated white sugar, then thats fine too, but brown in better.

5. Mix everything well, and then add the flour. Make sure that its not self-rising, your brownie is supposed to be gooey, and not fluffy.

6. Now mix everything till it becomes a hard batter almost like a dough and pop it in the microwave for about 45 mins. Don't overcook this, or it will become hard.

7. Let it cool for a few minutes, but serve warm!
